US $199 price is on a contract, whereas UK £529 is unlocked and you can then choose a SIM only plan from any provider, so not directly comparable.
LTE works on different bands around the world so if you want 4G in the UK you need a UK phone.

I would rate the Windows phone ahead of Android, but Apple still the best most reliable OS.
Unless you just upgraded to 8.0.1 that is.

Windows phone is top notch quick all the apps are available and if you have other windows devices syncs perfectly but both of these are not a patch on Iphone.
Being a techy I ditched Iphone a few years ago after 3 as i thought Apple had had its time and i thought 3 was pretty slow however after having 2 Androids HTC and samsung went back and got the iphone 5 been the best phone i've had, all the apps i need, quick and importantly reliable use it for everything it is not a just a phone it is personal organiser, email, music and video player etc etc People that say that haven't got a clue if you want just a phone go back and buy the old brick Nokia 3300

Most definitely getting the Sony Z3 myself.
There are plenty of reviews ant there, comparing this handset against the iPhone 6 plus, the Samsung S5 and so forth.
The Z3 is standing out by a country mile.

*Unless something better comes out in the next 2 months.
The iPhone 6 isn't a big a step as Apple needed to do to catch up.
